Ken Kievet

Position/Title:

Broker Associate

Background:

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, I began a career in retail management that lasted over twenty years.  In each position I ran multi-million dollar businesses and increased both sales and profits.

The success I achieved in the retail industry was due to some key principles and philosophies.  First, ask questions and listen very carefully to the customer, associates and resources.  Second, only after listening to the consumer and understanding their needs did I attempt to solve the problem.  Third, sometimes the best plan can turn out bad.  When this happens the best thing to do is forget the original plan and quickly adapt to the changing situation.  Finally, great customer service will always bring the customer back.

Why I Chose Real Estate As A Career:

Before becoming a licensed Realtor I talked with agents who I knew were successful.  After time I realized each of these Realtors were successful because of how they viewed the service they offered.

Before I completed one real estate class I realized that my commitment to customer service and my background was going to be the foundation of a career in real estate.

Being a Realtor is a dynamic position in that it changes quickly.  Markets can change rapidly from a sellers market to a buyers market almost overnight.  I enjoy working with people in a fast-paced industry and one that is always changing.

In addition to a fast-paced market, the office can be equally fast-paced.  In any given day I am involved in marketing, finance, public relations and negotiations.  I enjoy each of these important functions as well as the work that involves small details that may not seem important but if overlooked can create large problems.

As a Realtor I especially enjoy the many opportunities to continue my education.  With legal, financial and government changes occurring almost daily, a skilled Realtor must understand these changes and how they relate to the needs of the customer.  I frequently complete real estate classes so that I can better meet the needs of my customers.  Recently, I earned the designation of Broker.  This will enable me to work with and meet the needs of investors and people who have more complicated real estate situations.

Real Estate Goals/Accomplishments:

When I work on your behalf, either helping you purchase or sell a home, this is what you can expect.

  • The highest level of customer service.  I will give you the customer service you deserve through each step of the process.

  • I will understand clearly your needs and what you want to achieve in buying or selling a home.

  • I respect your time and understand its value.  I will do the research and preliminary work so that your time can be used more effectively.

  • Seek out the type of financing that meets your needs and financial situation.

  • To guide you through each step of the buying/selling process so that you are comfortable.

  • To be in continual communication with you so that you do not feel overwhelmed or abandoned.

  • Should your needs change, I will adapt and move quickly in the new direction.

  • When you are purchasing a home to ensure you bought the home at the best possible price.

  • When you are selling a home to make certain your home is purchased for the highest price.

I will be your advocate working diligently to meet your needs, anticipate issues and present to you all your options.

Personal Accomplishments:

Each time the goals of a buyer or seller are met is truly a great accomplishment.  The customer has the personal satisfaction of owning that one ideal home.  A seller may feel relief in that a burden is lifted because the home sold for a great price and in a timely manner.

My satisfaction and accomplishment is in helping each customer achieve their goals in the real estate process. This gives me a sense of personal accomplishment.

Hobbies/Miscellaneous:

For over twenty years I have been involved with the Boy Scouts.  Recently I became the Scoutmaster of a Troop that is experiencing rapid growth.  Each campout brings new and memorable experiences.

For over six years I have been an officer and an instructor teacher in my Church.  When life throws the wild curve balls, a walk of faith keeps everything in perspective.

My wife, two children and I enjoy taking cruise vacations.  It really does not matter the destination.  We enjoy the new adventure and the time spent together!
